On 0 calories

Japan is the land of awesome yummies. Everywhere you go, there's food. Step out of the station and you're welcomed by the aroma of freshly baked breads or cream puffs. Turn a corner and there's a soba specialty store. Even seven eleven has yummy bentos and deserts for when you're too busy to sit down for a meal!

When I first came to Japan I almost went crazy wanting to try everything, haha.

So how is it that Japanese people stay so slim? They probably have a lot of self control and maybe just eat really healthfully. I love how so much of the food is grilled or stewed nomnom.

But if you're looking to lose some weight and can't lose that sweet tooth or love for noodles, it isn't that hard here, as long as you can read カロリー which means 'calories'.

Introducing 0 カロリー foods.

This is my go-to when I need a midnight desert but blew my calories on a big dinner or something. 0 calorie muskat jelly with nata de coco and konyaku balls. Not as good as normal jelly, buy considering its guilt free it's pretty awesome. :'D

Craving noodles? Not a problem.

Konnyaku noodles are traditionally part of hotpot or Oden or just soupy food. But now they're really popular because they are so low in calories. That one there is Konnyaku ramen noodles for your salad. I  tried both that and the tomato flavuored variety and they were actually pretty good!

Salad + tomato konnyaku noodles :D

There is even a small section in the supermarket near my place dedicated just to these low-caloric foods.

Drinks are diet friendly too. Lots of sugar free tea to choose from, and also "calorie off" varieties.

This apple mint tea had "calorie off" written in small print at the bottom.
Corn tea that is 0 calories and caffeine, and sugar free Paradise Tropical Tea.

And then there was this.

Red bean beauty tea :D also 0 calories.
I decided to give it a try and it was really nice! Tasted like red bean soup without the sweetness but still kinda sweet. Maybe it was just me imagining it haha. Wonder if I got prettier drinking it :'D

1000 hits! :D +Fall/Winter trends from Shibuya

no image

1000 hits! Wow :'D Thanks for the support hehe. I actually thought I would become inactive even before 500 hits :'D I've always wanted to do one of these "Thank You 1000 Hits!" pictures actually, but never got down to making a website heheh. Well this still isn't exactly a site where I put my drawings, but that won't stop me from doing one! >:D

いやーこれからも頑張って書き続きますので、面白く読んでいただければと思います!応援してください ^0^~

If you know what that drawing is about, leave a comment or message me on FB! I need someone to talk to about this <3<3<3 if you don't know what this drawing is about, you have been living under a rock. Stop reading this blog now and go watch The Master's Sun! :D :D Tae Yang x Joo Joongwon is my new fav couple! haha

Well, enough about that! Took a walk around Shibuya yesterday, and I gotta say I just love this A/W's trends. It seems like this autumn and winter will be lots of sweaters x pencil skirts, houndstooth and plaids, monochrome, royal blue and red/wine around :D

Here are some mannequins i really liked from yesterday :'D

Displays at Jeanasis. Love the monochrome styling! Sorry the picture got overexposed so you can't really see the outfit in the middle though D:
I think I'm becoming a fan of their really smart and sharp looks that are still feminine at the same time *_*

Lowry's Farm (left) and Stevie (right). I want that houndstooth skirt! and I need a red cardigan nowwww.

And here are some co-ordinates from shops that I really like. These are actually pictures of shop staff posted on the online shops to give people ideas of how to style their clothes. It's great how they get staff members to dress up in their clothes like walking mannequins :'D

Heather:

I want that oversized houndstooth sweater nau kthxbai

And here are some looks from Ingni that sums up this season very well I think. (Images from Ingni's online catalogue)

And you can always count on Japan to be cute and sweet :'D

Whew that was a lot of pictures! I hope you enjoyed looking at them as much as I did :'D If you're interested in checking out more pics, you can Heather's styling here, Jeanasis' styling here and Lowry's Farm here

Cafe 76 - super late post :'D

Really belated post! Steph and Esther celebrated my birthday with me at cafe 76 this year :'D <3

It's a cafe run alongside a salon. Cafe in the basement and on the first floor and salon on the second floor. The service staff all dressed like they were ready snip a new hairstyle while serving coffee any time haha. It wasn't like most of the ~natural~ at home kind of cafes that are pretty common in Japan. It was more, modern and grungy? Cool concept!

We got a seat in the basement. They held it for us even though (I) we were 30min late :x you can't really see there but the girl in black served us that day, and her skirt was actually one of those hairstylist apron thingys, and she had really cool hair haha. さすが!

I had a bowl of Taco rice!
Taco Rice is a dish born in Okinawa. As you have probably already guessed from the name and the picture above, it's tacos with its shell replaced with rice! Pretty ingenious way to adapt a dish I think :'D and very, very delicious.

It's almost always served with an egg that holds the tartness of the tomato and the spiciness of the meat together nicely <3 nomnom.

After that came dessert!! My favourite part of every meal hehe.

So cute right!! Cute and yummy cakes. One of the many things I love about Japan. Ah but I couldn't bear to eat the ladybug D: and lol they spelt steph's name wrongly haha.

Hehe as you can see, the cafe was very good for camwhoring with the walls being fully lined with mirrors. One more photo!

Thanks for the surprise girls!! Life was throwing me sooo many lemons that time - internships, school, relationships, even the apples I bought were rotten lol. Kinda funny now i look back at it though haha. Couldn't have gotten through it myself. Love you girls!
